Safes that are AIS (Association of Insurance Surveyors) approved must have an accredited security test certificate  and this certicatation plate is always fitted to the back of the door. There are essentially three approved test certificates - EN 14450, EN 1143-1 and EN1143-2. The EN14450 test is in two grades S1 and S2 and is mainly covering budget and medium security safes for the home with an insurance cash ratings of £2000 or £4000, while the two EN1143 certificates are for eurograde tests for standard high security safes and the same with deposit options respectively with insurance cash ratings from £6000 up to £250,000. All cash ratings should multiplied by 10 to obtain the valuables insurance rating as approved by AIS. In addition many offer fire resistance too and if you use the filtering system on the left of this page you can select fire resistance level you require. The medium security insurance certified safes are the most popular range for use in the home with certified insurance cash ratings of £4,000, £5,000, £6,000 and £10,000. In some cases there is very little price difference between these ratings, which is why you can view them together by using the filter on the left side of the page. Insurance cash ratings of £17,500, £35,000 and £60,000 (eurograde EN1143-1 are  2, 3 and 4) we deem to be High security certified safes and are the most popular range of ultra secure safes we offer. For the home these safes are usually used for securing and protection of valuables such as jewellery, watches and gold coins from burglary and the three eurogrades - 2, 3 and 4 offer £175,000, £350,000 and £600,000 insurance cover respectively. These safes are very heavy so you may wish to take the option of our professional  installation service rather than the drop off service included in our standard price. These high security certified safes such as the Chubbsafes Trident and Phoenix Eurograde Safes are also used in retail businesses such as jewellers. If you require the ultimate in burglary protection look no further than the Eurograde certified safes of Grades 5, 6 and 7 such as the Burton Atlas Grade 7 and Dudley Europa Safes. These maximum security safes offer insurance cash ratings from £100,000, £150,000 and £250,000. The weights of maxiimum security safes vary from around 400kg up to 2400kg - due to the heavy weight of these safe we may need to carry out a site survey before accepting an order.
