Key-locking safe FAQs:
Are key-locking safes as secure as digital electronic safes?
Yes, our key-locking safes are just as secure as digital electronic safes, with the main difference being their primary locking system. The overall security depends on the grade of the lock mechanism and overall build quality, but you can rest assured that all of the safes we stock are made from durable, strong materials.
Because key-locking safes do not have digital override codes, losing your keys means that your safe will have to be opened by a certified safe engineer. Depending on the model, they can either pick the lock or drill into a designated entry point to open it without destroying the safe body and replacing the lock cylinder.
Do key-locking safes need to be bolted down?
Yes, any safe that weighs under 1,000kg must be securely anchored to a solid concrete floor or brick wall for insurance cover. This is easy enough to do with the pre-drilled fixing holes and masonry bolts provided. If you’re after something more compact, check out our small safes on offer.
Do key-locking safes require batteries or power?
No, one of the great things about a key-locking safe is that they are purely mechanical, making it 100% reliable in cold or damp environments. You don’t have to worry about battery failures or forgotten PIN codes.
