Fingerprint locking safes have a locking system that can be opened by scanning and programming a user's fingerprint. This type of locking system, powered by standard alkaline batteries, are also known as Fingerscan or Biometric locking. Many safe brands such as Phoenix allow up to 32 fingerprints to be programmed to allow multi-user access. These fingerprints can be erased at any time with a management code. You can access the safe either with fingerprint or PIN code - In the case of the Burton Companion fingerprint lock up to 50 fingerprints or PIN codes can be programmed. In the event of battery failure the lock will not lose programmed fingerprints nor pincodes and will act normally once the battery is replaced.
