Traffic cones are widely used to alert and provide exrtra safety for road users to the dangers where there are ongoing road improvements, temporary obstructions such as emergency incidents involving the police, fire and and ambulance. Furthermore they are essential to guide drivers and pedestrians away from pot holes, road accidents and construction work. The fluorescent orange colour is designed to be highly visible against varied backgrounds, especially at night when equipped with reflective collars. The cone shape makes them stable in wind and easily stackable for transportation. Furthermore traffic cones are used for lane closures, crowd control, and outside homes and buildings to restrict parking.
