Where should you install your gun safe?
Ideally, the gun safe or shotgun cabinet should be placed in a location that does not have direct access to the outside of your home. Do not install the gun cabinet in a garage, shed, or other outside building. This will improve safety and reduce the likelihood of an attack and theft. Ammunition should obviously not be stored close to any heat source.
The insurance and firearms engineers who test the security of rifle safes recommend that they be bolted to a concrete floor. But if this isn’t possible, you can bolt the gun cabinet to a solid wall. Ensure your gun safe is not immediately visible and position it in a corner - this will ensure it is more difficult for it to be attacked by a thief.How much does a gun safe weigh?
