AIS Approved safes are safes that have been approved by the Association of Insurance Surveyors and therefore the test certificates held by these safes are accepted by all UK Insurance companies as being genuine and an accurate reflection of the security and insurance value rating.
However no safe is secure unless the installation is executed to the Test Authorities recommendation. All security safes that weigh less than 1 tonne (1,000 kg) must be securely bolted through the base into a concrete surface. Bolting the safes only via the rear or into a wood floor, for example, may well contravene the limitations of your home contents insurance policy. Check with your Insurance provider before purchasing.
