FAQs

Click here to ask us a question...

How easy is this safe to install? Can I do this or should I hire a builder to do it for me? Reid
Unless you are confident or experienced in digging and mixing concrete, and have the correct tools for this, we would recommend that you employ a builder to install the safe for you. We do provide full installation instructions with the safe, and would be happy to send you a copy if you would like, but generally it is a job more suited to a builder.

Question asked by R Blackman on 10 Aug 2015

What type of flooring should i lay on top of this safe?
The safe should be flush fitting at ground level but you will need access to open the safe. We would therefore suggest something that's easy to remove such as a rug, loose carpet or lino.

Question asked by Hewie Frank on 10 Aug 2015

Hi, Can this safe be removed when I move house?
The body of the safe is securely surrounded by concrete and therefore it would be extremely difficult to remove and take with you to a new home. However, it is quite common to take the lid with you as this is the most expensive part of the safe and you can usually buy a replacement body separately for your new home, which, providing they are the same model and version, will fit together with your lid.

Question asked by James Stanley on 10 Aug 2015

What's the best location for this safe in my home?
Usually this type of safe would be placed on the ground floor as most upper floors are not deep enough. In terms of which room on the ground floor, this is personal preference but the garage floor is fairly common as inside the house you may have fully carpeted floors which would make it difficult to access the safe. Basements are another option for location but do bear in mind the risk of flooding in your area as these safes are not waterproof.
